Pollen was started by Pronto, a San Francisco-based company that develops autonomous driving technology. Pronto’s technology required reliable and affordable mobile connectivity, which we weren’t getting with legacy carriers, so we built our own network.
We soon realized we could open up our technology and deliver a reliable privacy-focused, affordable mobile network owned and operated by its users
Within the Pollen Mobile, radios called Flowers are installed anywhere you need them. You will download a SIM to your mobile devices, enabling you to use your network.
Customer premises equipment (CPE) further extends the Pollen network to phones and other connected devices by broadcasting an extended Wi-Fi signal. With a CPE, no SIM installation is required.
